In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation may be determined based on bona fide factors such as education, experience, and other factors permitted by law.

Salary range for this position: $ $67,000 – $ 92,743.67 (annually)

Hiring Range for this position: $ 67,000 – $ 67,000 (annually)

Additional Compensation (Stipends) = $ 4,000 – LCSW or LMFT (annual); $ 4,000 – Bilingual (annual)

OVERALL FUNCTION:

Responsible for being a part of the Mental Health Programs clinical team, incorporating individual, group and family therapy in the treatment of clients in the community.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide clinical services to children, ages five to 20, living in Los Angeles County. This includes, but not limited to, individual, group and family therapist.
  • Ability to drive to sessions when the therapeutic situation dictates.
  • Ability to collaborate with collateral contacts (school personnel, referral sources, etc.), all the while being able to represent OYHFS mission, vision and values. Case management activities including school contacts/meetings, telephone calls, liaison/advocate for clients as well as other community outreach activities.
  • Complete documentation of work with clients, including Department of Mental Health paperwork and reflective progress notes.
  • Participate in the treatment planning of clients, utilizing treatment team meetings, supervision and available resources to help determine the best treatment modality for each respective client.
  • Meet required billing hours of an average of 24 hours a week per quarter. This subject to change based on Optimist’s contract with Department of Mental Health.
  • Research various topics to enhance group experience for the clients
  • Participate in departmental team / unit meetings.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory training and in-services as required.
  • Performs other tasks and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by program supervisor.
  • Be accessible in the event of client emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • All applicants MUST be fully vaccinated.
  • Possess a Masters-level degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology or other qualifying field, LCSW or LMFT preferred.
  • Active registration/license through the Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (BBS).
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Training and experience in Evidence-based Practices (EBP’s) preferred.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge and/or competence in DMH policies and/or procedures preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Ability to manage time effectively and be flexible with hours and duties.
  • All employees, regardless of position service as role models for children and adolescents who are serviced by OYHFS programs. Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral problems. The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression of emotions, as well as appropriate role modeling. Hostility, aggression and unnecessary or inappropriate physical actions as well as inappropriate emotional expression are not acceptable.
  • Must be able to pass criminal/fingerprinting background check, TB Test, Physical Exam and Drug Testing. Must have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and a clear DMV record for at least 5 years. Must have the visual, physical and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office equipment including the use of a computer. Will also require bending, stooping, filing, lifting of at least 50 lbs. or more and have the ability to successfully complete ProAct.
