MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Psychology.
  • Must be licensed in California as a LMFT, LCSW, or psychologist or license-eligible i.e., board-registered MFT-Intern, ASW, MSW, or Waivered Psychologist.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with two years post-degree clinical experience, but all applicants with the above qualifications are encouraged to apply.
  • Spanish Bilingual ability required to meet the clients’ needs
  • DMH paperwork experience preferred
  • Knowledge of/Certification in Evidence Based Practices highly preferred
  • Requires the ability to independently use a computer and learn necessary computer programs.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record under the Agency’s liability policy. May be required to obtain a Class II California driver’s license.
  • Must pass all applicable health, fingerprint/Live Scan and DMV clearances.

JOB PURPOSE:

Providing individual, group, and family therapy in the clinic, school, home or community, the Clinician promotes the mission of Child & Family Center by providing culturally comprehensive assessment and mental health services using evidence-based practices, participates in treatment planning and provides parent education within their scope of practice as designated by Child & Family Center as well as their licensing or registering body.

Clinicians I are energetic self-starters who are able to function comfortably in a team environment or independently and relates well to co-workers and County representatives. This position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks with little supervision. The individual in this position must be able to assume a wide range of responsibilities, provide timely responses to requests and deadlines and works well under pressure.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct strength-based, culturally competent therapeutic services, consisting of individual, family and/or group therapy as well as individualized intakes and/or other assessments as appropriate.
  • Provide services to all age levels as assigned (0-5; child/adolescent and adult), in the office, school or in the field, consistent with contractual, programmatic and clinical requirements
  • Schedule clients according to client need and client availability. Be available for evening appointments if clinically indicated.
  • Provide or link client to case management services as clinically appropriate. Provide targeted case management and rehabilitation services to clients and caregivers. Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team(s) to provide appropriate coordinated care services to clients and their families as well as linkages to community supports or other services as needed, such as psychiatry, medical care, housing, rehabilitation & drug/alcohol services and social activity groups
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate groups as assigned.
  • Assess and monitor client and/or family progress; evaluate outcomes and collaborate to adjust course of treatment as appropriate.
  • Complete Service and Coordination Plans, progress notes, and other County-required documentation within two business days of service delivery; meet the timeliness standards of state and county government funding and other agency funding sources.
  • Meet Agency requirements regarding client service hours, both billable (for reimbursable services) and non-billable; consistently provide services in keeping with all programmatic and contractual requirements.
  • Interact well with other internal programs, clinical/support staff and with external sources such as school or community personnel as applicable.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings to provide input towards program development and staff training.
  • Manage all information containing sensitive/confidential content with utmost discretion and adherence to all relevant policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality for all sensitive matters.
  • Provide program coverage and assistance for other departments as needed or as assigned.
  • Develop curriculum for prevention/treatment groups as well as community presentations.
  • Provide crisis coverage as needed or assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
