We currently have an opening for a temporary full-time Psycho-Social Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist at Heartland Wellness Recovery Center. The duration of this position is 3 months.
The Heartland Wellness and Recovery Center is a psychosocial rehabilitation center that provides mental health services to adults (ages 18 and above). Services include initial psychosocial assessments, psychiatric and medication evaluations, ongoing medication support services, limited individual supportive counseling, group counseling, care coordination, information, referrals, and linkage, crisis intervention, and psychosocial rehabilitation activities. Heartland Center provides these services under contract with the County of San Diego Mental Health Services and the Health and Human Services Agency.
We have a specialty Transitional Age Youth program for young adults (age 18-24) who present with unique needs and preferences in mental health services. We also have a specialty program for older adults (age 60 year and over) who present with a variety of mental health and medical needs.
The emphasis of treatment is on the bio-psycho-social rehabilitation of the individual. Respect for the client is a core value, and our staff work closely with all of our clients to develop individualized service plans that focus on their strengths, needs, and abilities. We encourage the participation of family members in the recovery process. The team at Heartland Center is multi-disciplinary, and consists of marriage and family therapists and interns, PSR Counselors, psychologist, psychiatrists, nurses, clerical staff, and master’s level interns.
General Description
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSR) works as part of a highly dynamic team on a shared caseload working with other professional disciplines within the field. Job duties include crisis intervention, psychological assessments, individual and group psychotherapy and treatment and discharge planning for adults who are diagnosed with severe mental illness and may be dually diagnosed with a substance use disorder.
Rotation on call for after-hours emergency telephone consultation required.
Qualifications / Skills Required
Credential requirements: Licensed Clinical Psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Registered/Waivered Psychologist, Registered ASW, IMF, or PCCI. Educational requirements: M.A. in Psychology, Social Work, or related field with minimum two years related work experience in mental health field. SMI experience preferred.
The candidate must also have great customer service skills, basic computer skills and a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
