The In-Home Outreach Counselor (IHOC) is responsible to ensure child safety within the home.
Job Responsibilities: Conduct intake assessments; provide in-home visits to Family Preservation clients and children on a weekly basis; evaluate and assess child safety in assigned families homes; provide daily/monthly documentation regarding visits and family progress; meet with clinical supervisor, family and CSW to discuss appropriate case plan for clients throughout the duration of services provided; notify the Department of Children and Family Services Child Hotline Center when a child and or children are at risk and will follow-up with the County Social Worker(s), as directed by clinical supervisor; monitor supplemental/linkage services provided; attend weekly supervision meetings; coordinate/attend required Family Preservation meetings, training and other staff meetings as needed.
Education Experience: Masters Degree in Social Services (MSW or MFT) and some experience in the above mentioned requirements (Family Preservation, preferably); minimum two years experience in social services; or a B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited four year institution with emphasis in Psychology or Behavioral Sciences; case management experience and/or experience working with high-risk families.
Qualifications: Must have demonstrated excellent writing skills; pass background check, have a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance; have TB clearance, work a flexible schedule; be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, internet and email; own their own car. This is a part-time/temporary position
