The Hmong/English Counselor will provide direct services to adults and/or children at the WEAVE Counseling Center and/or at selected sites. Direct client services include facilitating adult groups in a Hmong-Speaking sewing circle (2 times/mo); maintaining accurate and complete files, the ability to identify, assess and report cases of suspected child abuse/neglect to Child Protective Services “CPS” and advocate for the concerns of clients with their support systems, schools, the legal system, social service agencies and other helping professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, MFT or MSW, with current registration
  • Minimum of two years counseling experience working with adults of various backgrounds preferred
  • Experience working with domestic violence and sexual assault preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingual- Hmong and English
  • Complete WEAVE’s 68-hour peer counselor certification program if counseling domestic violence and sexual assault survivors
  • Provide copy of valid California driver license, have reliable transportation, and submit current proof of vehicle insurance
  • Satisfactory results from DOJ background check and TB Test (post employment offer requirement)
