Job Description: Asian Pacific Counseling & Treatment Centers is a division of Special Service for Groups (SSG) and was the very first mental health center in Los Angeles County specifically developed to meet the unique needs of rapidly growing numbers of API immigrants and refugees who were in need of a wide range of mental health services.
SSG-APCTC is seeking fluent, bilingual Korean clinicians who have experience working with families, adults and older adults with moderate to persistent mental illness. The position requires at least 50% field work, providing mental health services in clients’ homes, board and care facilities, recreational facilities, office, school or other sites. The candidate will provide individual, family or group therapy, crisis assessments and intervention and occasional 24-hour emergency psychiatric coverage for his/her clients. The candidate will collaborate with hospitals, family members, significant others, law enforcement and will facilitate access to needed resources for his/her client in the community. SSG-APCTC is a LAC-DMH contracted agency so documentation is in line with DMH policies.
The candidate must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field and a valid registration as an ACSW or MFT Registered Intern with the State of California BBS. A reliable transportation and proof of California Driver License is required.
Skills: We are recruiting candidates who have a passion working or wanting experience in the mental health field, who want to help under-served populations, candidates who are comfortable with field work in the Metropolitan Los Angeles area and are comfortable working with adults and older adults with persistent mental illness. The candidate must be able to work independently in the field, manage their time efficiently, able to communicate effectively with their treatment team, supervisors and managers, willing to take initiative, be persistent and eager to learn.
