Part-Time Temporary Associate Clinician
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Temporary Associate Clinician is responsible for providing individual counseling/therapy, group therapy, and bio-psycho-social assessment services to clients in an outpatient setting. A
Temporary Associate Clinician will demonstrate growing expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities, case management, development of patient support systems, electronic health records, virtual tele-health treatment, and discharge/continuing care planning. The Temporary
Associate Clinician will collaborate with the interdepartmental treatment team frequently to plan and coordinate the client’s movement throughout the continuum of care. A Temporary Associate
Clinician is required to maintain an active caseload of no less than ten (10) direct service hours per week. These hours can also include support group facilitation. These hours are not constrained by normal business timeframes and can be accrued outside of posted operating hours. Temporary employment in this capacity is contingent upon the Associate Clinician meeting expected direct service obligations. All Temporary Associate Clinicians will be evaluated at the 180 day mark and will be asked to depart the program if they are not meeting expected productivity standards.
Temporary employment will be maintained for a period of one (1) calendar year or 365 days from the date of hire.
Position Responsibilities:
● Conduct initial diagnostic assessments and develop treatment plans with periodic review/revision.
● Provide regular psychotherapy to clients as clinically appropriate to maintain health and wellness.
● Assist clients in developing measurable treatment and discharge goals/objectives.
● Facilitate group counseling sessions and psycho-educational groups as needed and as assigned by their direct supervisor.
● Document all rendered services via electronic health record (EHR) systems.
● Maintain timely documentation of client records and progress notes.
● Maintain frequent contact with their Clinical Supervisor regarding caseload/consultation needs and for co-signing of all written clinical documentation.
● Attend and participate in weekly clinical supervision to consult on treatment and receive departmental updates.
● Attend and participate in at least one (1) unit of clinical supervision per week or more as needed based on the standards of supervision-to-direct service ratios defined by the
California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
● Maintain and adhere to all Federal, State, and County regulations regarding patient confidentiality and discipline code of ethics.
● Participate in training areas as needed to maintain clinical competence and cultural humility.
● Responsible for State and Joint Commission documentation requirements relating to client records.
● Timely and thorough responses to documentation requests for Utilization Reviews or
Concurrent Reviews.
● Observation of agency policies relating to professional boundaries.
● Observe conflict of interest limitations and notify direct supervisors regarding outside employment restrictions on caseload schedule.
Additional Responsibilities:
● Attend at least one (1) mobile street medicine clinic event per month as needed and/or as assigned by their direct supervisor.
All staff are expected to:
● Attend weekly staff meetings (2-3x per month), on time and prepared with requested updates or materials.
● Attend annual staff retreat (1x per year).
● Attend one (1) conference or professional development training per year.
● Attend all signature annual TruEvolution activations as requested, including: Youth
United, Healthy Community Provider’s Summit, and TruHero Gala, and other “key” events to the annual programmatic calendar.
● Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
● Must maintain CPR and First Aid certifications or be willing/able to obtain them within thirty (30) days of temporary employment.
● Ability to clear an FBI criminal background check.

● Ability to be aware of others’ reactions, understanding why they react as they do, and adjusting one’s own actions in relation to others.

● Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple diverse communities in the consideration of impacts and outcomes of a decision-making process.

Additional Qualifications:
Education & Experience
● Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Social
Work, Psychology, or other related field.
● Hold a current and unrestricted associate registration (AMFT/ACSW/APCC) to practice supervised therapy in the state of California from the California BBS.
