I was very suddenly "at will" fired from this place after working as a school therapist for 6 months. No warning whatsoever. The management is horrendous, the office culture is cut throat, my first individual supervisor was a sweet old guy but not very on the ball with current BBS rules, my second supervisor was a, well, it rhymes with "rich".. The group supervisor was so so. The full name of this place is actually Valley Community Counseling Services. Working as a school therapist was not bad at all. I rather enjoyed working with most of the kids. Its also nice to work independently at the schools. But each school will have different ways of accommodating school therapists. You might literally be put in a closet, or an office full of boxes with barely any space to do anything with your clients except talk. So no play therapy and you have to bring art supplies, toys, etc. with you. Some principals are difficult to work with, some are great. It was when I had to go back to the office to do MediCal paperwork that the job became very difficult.

Paperwork intensive, county mental health 'boot camp', high stress, high turnover as a result. Office politics are high. Low support for stress. An 'at will' company who can and will let you go without notice or specific reason.
