One of my most enjoyable intern experiences, even if it WAS unpaid! This is animal-assisted therapy, working with at-risk youth using a variety of animals. They provide training on how to handle the animals and how to apply the therapy. Very cool experience for therapist as well as clients. Lisa Peacock, who runs the foundation, is very supportive, a nice person and works hard to provide good supervisors. I'm a big advocate for getting paid at internships, but this is one situation where I think it was definitely worth it to look past the money to the experience.
