About Us:
Xochipilli Counseling Services started in January 2023 as a virtual private practice based in Los Angeles, CA. Since January 2023, we have served clients throughout Southern and Northern California. Xochipilli Counseling is dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services to individuals, couples, families, LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. Our practice values a collaborative team environment, professional growth, and a client-centered approach to therapy. We specialize in list any specialties such as trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions and personal growth.
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Professional Counselor (APCC) or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is committed to providing ethical and effective psychotherapy while developing their clinical skills under supervision. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client population in a supportive group practice setting.
This is an ideal position for someone who is working elsewhere, as their caseload would build over time (average 3-6 months)
This is an opportunity also work with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.
Responsibilities:
Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy sessions.
Conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and document client progress.
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Attend regular supervision meetings to fulfill BBS requirements and enhance clinical skills.
Collaborate with other clinicians, referral sources, and community resources as needed.
Participate in team meetings and case consultations to support best clinical practices.
Maintain professional and ethical standards as outlined by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and relevant professional organizations.
Attend supervision 1x weekly (or more depending on the amount of clients met per week per BBS guidelines).
(For licensed clinicians) provide supervision to associates as needed (negotiable)
(Optional) Help Xochipilli Counseling to build it’s social media presence by sharing a topic that you are passionate about on a social justice related or mental health related issue.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited program.
Active Associate Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an ACSW, APCC or AMFT (must provide proof of registration).
Experience or interest in working with diverse populations [children, teens, adults, couples, or specialized concerns like trauma, addiction, anxiety, etc.].
Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions.
Must have BBS associate number (or working towards it in the near future
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Must maintain professional liability insurance.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
A desire to learn evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT, Psychodynamic Therapy, etc.).
Ability to build rapport and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients.
Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Time management and organizational skills to balance caseload and documentation requirements.
Openness to feedback and professional development.
