About the Practice
Your Therapy Nook is a boutique child and teen therapy practice with locations in San Jose and Redwood City, CA, specializing exclusively in children and adolescents ages 3–17. We pair weekly individual therapy with structured monthly parent coaching, grounded in a child-centered, attachment-focused philosophy.
Clients are provided. You do not market yourself. You show up and do the clinical work.
Our Clinical Philosophy
Behaviors are communication. A child who is hitting, melting down, or refusing school is telling you something they cannot yet say with words. Our job is to hear what they are saying. We lead with connection before correction, and we measure progress by whether a child feels seen, safe, and understood.
Sessions are child-centered. The child leads. The clinician tracks, attunes, co-regulates, and responds — bringing their full clinical self into the room. Parent coaching is built into every case. It is the clinical work, not an add-on.
Our training orientation includes attachment-based approaches, Synergetic Play Therapy, and Brainspotting. Play therapy certification is not required — training is provided by the practice.
