Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT)

Fully Remote | California | W-2 Employee

Therapure Marriage & Family Counseling, Inc. is looking for a motivated and self-directed AMFT to join our fully remote private practice. This position is ideal for an associate who wants to continue developing clinically while also learning how to build and maintain a private-practice caseload.

About the Role

Provide individual and/or couples therapy through telehealth
Build and manage your own caseload
Receive ongoing clinical supervision and mentorship at no additional cost
Learn ethical marketing, networking, and referral-building strategies
Participate in occasional marketing/practice-development meetings
Develop your own schedule and manage your clinical availability
Work independently in a supportive, non-micromanaging environment
Practice is private-pay only
The position will begin part-time while you build your caseload, with a goal of approximately 5–8 clients per week. As your caseload grows, there is an opportunity to increase hours and discuss transitioning toward a full-time schedule.

Please note: This position does not come with a guaranteed full caseload. Associates are expected to actively participate in building their own caseload. The practice will provide referrals when available.

Clinical Supervision

Ongoing supervision is provided at no cost and will focus on clinical skills, case conceptualization, treatment planning, documentation, ethics, and professional development.

Marketing & Caseload Development

You will receive guidance on ethical marketing and practice-building, including networking, professional outreach, Facebook/community groups, referral relationships, and online therapist platforms.Therapure will cover the cost of marketing platforms such as Psychology Today and Zencare. Associates will be expected to actively participate in creating and maintaining their professional profiles and implementing their marketing strategy.

Schedule

Fully remote and open to clinicians located anywhere in California.

You will have flexibility to create your own schedule and determine when you see clients.

Technology

Sessions and practice management will be conducted through SimplePractice, provided by the practice.

Ideal Candidate

Current California AMFT registration
Approximately 1,000+ hours completed
Motivated to continue developing as a clinician
Self-starter and comfortable working independently
Strong communication and organizational skills
Interested in learning private-practice marketing and caseload development
Receptive to supervision and feedback
Comfortable providing telehealth
Multilingual Candidates

Speaking another language is a strong plus. Therapure currently serves German-speaking clients, and we are particularly interested in clinicians who speak German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, or another language.

Compensation & Employment

W-2 employee position
Private-pay clients only
40% of the collected session fee
Session fees generally range from $75–$150, resulting in approximately $30–$60 per completed session
Each session consists of 45 minutes of therapy + up to 15 minutes for documentation
Compensation may increase as the associate’s caseload and practice develop
