About Holistic Trauma Therapy®

Holistic Trauma Therapy® is a full-spectrum, depth-oriented trauma practice in Pasadena and Newport Beach, California, led by Chief Traumatologist Seema Sharma, SEP, LMFT. We integrate psychology, consciousness studies, and holistic modalities to support healing across the mind, body, and spirit. We work with people navigating the full range of trauma — childhood and complex trauma, sexual trauma, workplace and corporate wounding, religious trauma, and culturally complex experiences — helping them release stored survival patterns and return to themselves. Our orientation leans toward psychodynamic and depth psychotherapy, integrated with somatic and evidence-based modalities.

About this role — for the pre-licensed clinician ready to be apprenticed to the work

This is a role for the early-career, pre-licensed clinician who feels the pull toward depth work and wants to be trained into it well. You may be an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), or a Registered Psychological Associate, registered or pending in California.

The clinicians who do this work powerfully are the ones willing to be supervised closely, to keep learning, and to be changed by what they witness. Alongside your clinical development, you will be mentored in the real craft of building a sustainable practice — caseload-building, client retention, and the business skills most pre-licensed clinicians are never taught. This is hands-on apprenticeship, not a holding pattern.

What you will do

• Provide primarily individual therapy, with occasional couples or family work and an option for group therapy
  Conduct intakes and assessments
• Build and sustain your caseload toward a target of 20–25 clients per week, supported by HTT®’s brand and marketing infrastructure
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
• Attend weekly clinical supervision and a weekly marketing and business meeting
• Actively market yourself using HTT®-approved positioning, with coaching provided
• Pursue ongoing training in somatic, depth, and trauma modalities

Who you are

• Valid AMFT, APCC, ACSW, or Registered Psychological Associate registration in California (registered or pending)
• Master’s degree or doctorate in a relevant clinical field
• Developing clinical skills in individual therapy; couples experience a plus
• Open to psychodynamic and depth-oriented work
• Training, or genuine eagerness to train, in one or more holistic modalities — somatic therapy, parts work or IFS, EMDR, or Brainspotting. A strong passion for somatic work, parts work, or EMDR is given special consideration, as these are core to our practice.
• Willing and motivated to market yourself and build a caseload; past corporate, entrepreneurial, sales, or business-development experience is a plus
• A two-year commitment is requested
• Previous trauma experience is welcomed but not required. What matters most is depth of interest, coachability, and genuine drive.

Compensation and what we provide

• 50/50 fee split — associates receive 50% of net session fees, with an hourly draw structure during ramp-up so you have a real base income from your first clinical hour. Associate Rates Range from ($150 – $300/50-min session)

• Full operational infrastructure: furnished offices in Pasadena and Newport Beach, EHR, HIPAA-compliant telehealth, billing, scheduling, client onboarding, Psychology Today profile
• Referrals and marketing coaching, plus mentorship in private-practice management
• Training subsidies for relevant professional trainings (EMDR, somatic therapy, IFS)
